  • Initiate buy/sell/hold recommendations on public and privately placed corporate fixed income investments
  • Conduct company specific and industry level fundamental research as the basis for recommendations
  • Identify and communicate trends and investment opportunities that improve portfolio return
  • Deliver persuasive oral and written communications regarding investment recommendations and rationale to portfolio management and investment committee
  • Personally host and lead meetings with C-suite company management from covered industries as part of due diligence
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external parties including sell-side analysts, investment banks, industry experts, and rating agencies
  • Accountable for a large portfolio of companies
  • 4+ years fixed income experience working in Investment operations/middle office role in asset management, Hedge Fund, or investment banking
  • College degree in finance, accounting, or similar discipline, is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Investment Operations, new concepts and regulations and technology being used, including trading workflows and typical systems involved
  • Some familiarity/knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory (STAT) relating to securities investments.
  • Strong aptitude for numbers and ability to understand abstract concepts and recognize patterns.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be self-initiated, strong planner and organizer.
  • Working knowledge of the following systems: Bloomberg, Excel, Business Objects, MS Query, Maximis, MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills)
