Job Description

IT Manager - NAV ERP

This position will manage the development, expansion and ongoing operation of the NAV ERP system.

Duties will include

  • Managing delivery of ERP functionality throughout the development life cycle from functional analysis and solution design, all the way through to user acceptance and implementation.
  • Managing the deployment of additional NAV business units globally, including introduction of new operating business units, coordination with helping to establish a robust intercompany purchase/sale environment between companies in NAV, as well as sister companies operating in other environments (SAP).
  • Leveraging your own skills as well as in-house and contractor resources to manage helpdesk tickets, ensuring that users are supported and that new features requests are prioritized in coordination with larger IT project efforts.
  • Developing solutions to data problems that may require SQL-Server level activities, ensuring that appropriate testing and user communications take place before the solution is enacted.
  • Working with a project manager to create and execute project plans for all significant development efforts.
  • Serving as an advocate for NAV and evangelist with the user community, to ensure the company takes full advantage of the ERP.
  • Assisting the Director of Financial Systems with periodic reporting to upper management and the user community on NAV projects and plans.

Skills desired

Excellent understanding of ERP functionality, particularly in the areas of:

  • Sales Order processing
  • Supply Chain: Purchasing, Demand planning, intercompany transactions
  • Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse transactions
  • Financials: G/L, Receivable, Payables, Bank Accounts

Highly skilled writing SQL queries and leveraging

Knowledge and experience with User Setup, User Accounts, Permissions and Security. SOX compliance a plus.

Must be able to work both independently, in a team environment and under a supervisor's guidance, with superior analytical, interpersonal and project management skills.

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, working with people from all departments in the company who have varying degrees of computer/technology knowledge and to produce work in a timely, budgeted, scheduled and profitable manner for the Company.

Dynamics NAV experience as a Support Specialist and/or in a Function Consultant role.

Understands Power BI capabilities and how to build and publish NAV Role Centers


Bachelor's Degree or its foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Management or Supply Chain Management and 5-7 years of experience in a multi-national ERP environment, preferably with Microsoft. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, employer will accept an additional 2 years of experience.
