Job Description

Vaco Technology has a need for an experienced, talented and motivated Technical Project Manager for one of our premier clients in Norfolk, Va.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will be the primary lead for a major Office365 implementation. You will also be the primary vendor interface on all aspects of the project. You will develop a collaborative working relationship with internal stakeholders: business partners and technical experts. You will maintain/demonstrate a strong work ethic, ability to multi-task, positive attitude, and an understanding of the big picture in order to make decisions that support the overall business strategy and objectives.

Essential Functions

1. Overall Planning for migration & deployment of Office365 network.

2. Ensure, oversee, coordinate and manage successful delivery of projects by adhering to industry and vendor best-practices

3. Effectively manage resources (personnel and physical assets) to meet timeline expectations

4. Increase efficiencies and profitability of project

5. Motivate with a strong desire to continually learn


  • Provide direction for the project planning, and systems integration
  • Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve services
  • Constantly review work of the project team for improvement and adjustment
  • Recognize system deficiencies or project drift and take steps for effective solutions
  • Direct project meetings to gather status information as well as to provide information and guidance to the team members. Acts as the primary customer contact between different departments within organization. Mediates and resolves team conflicts
  • Directs team to ensure they adhere to the established methodologies, standards, tools, processes, policies, and procedures
  • Accomplish project results by communicating expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising results, coaching, counseling, and engaging escalation practices when needed
  • Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by helping define the delivery, and strategic plans for implementing information technologies
  • Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with other departments
  • Verifies results by conducting audits of implementations
  • Recommend strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain high-level knowledge and proficiency in Resource Management practices and Change Management techniques
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Remain flexible during times of change
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
  • Perform other duties as required


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a Cloud environment
  • Previous (4-7 years) experience in deploying or managing delivery engineers a wide variety of Information Technology projects, including experience in implementations
  • Expertise and experience in Project and Resource Management
  • Network/Infrastructure experience
  • Excellent skills in critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions (e.g., partnering, conflict management, consulting, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail


  • ITIL or PMP Certified
  • Enterprise environment experience preferred (i.e. banking, healthcare)
