In this position, you will be responsible for documenting and managing the business/content requirements of project end users and stakeholders, and distilling them into focused, understandable and actionable deliverables. This will require that you provide analysis and improvement recommendations at both strategic and technical levels.

Your daily duties and responsibilities in this role will generally include:

  • Serving as liaison between finance departments and technical teams to identify, analyze, and gather business requirements
  • Lead Accounting Operations projects and initiatives with minimal management involvement. Recommending improvements to the first line of defense regarding policies, procedures, and processes that improve consistency, accuracy and timeliness as well as strengthen internal controls.
  • Establishes a clear framework and accountabilities for the department's procedures, policies & controls, including governance, self-assessments, monitoring, testing, reporting, communication and training.
  • Create and manage data-driven management reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly, etc. cadence. Including, but not limited to, providing oversight, commentary, trend analysis and recommendations around the reporting to management.
  • Leads process documentation and improvement efforts within Accounting Operations including guiding and advising other team members in the oversight and updating of policies and procedures.
  • Partners with numerous groups within the business to create meaningful analysis for decision-making related to revenue generating initiatives and new business policies.
  • Conducting interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, job shadowing, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
  • Collaborating with project managers and project sponsors to refine project scope and vision
  • Translating conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
  • Creating process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team
  • Assisting with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options, and communicating these back to the stakeholders
  • Participating in the QA and end user testing from an IT and finance perspective of purchased solutions or custom solutions to ensure that features and functions have been enabled and optimized
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, Hyperion and BI tools make you a solid contender!
