Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is a direct contributor for the success of project implementations, including transition to customer support as well as overall internal and external client satisfaction. The Business Analyst is responsible for: client requirements gathering, design specifications, testing of client applications, client support, training and systems integration.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The Business Analyst, along with the Project Manager and IT representative, form the implementation team.
  • Support Client Services in ensuring the success factors of each project are met in the areas of change control, issue and risk escalation, and overall client satisfaction
  • Ensure deliverable quality
  • Act as subject matter expert on insurance product knowledge
  • Work with client/implementation teams to understand and document detailed business and functional application requirements
  • Develop detailed functional design for developer, QA and implementation teams to leverage
  • Partner with Dev Lead to monitor development of client applications to ensure adherence to requirement and design specifications
  • Work with QA staff to review test plans and strategies to ensure compliance with specification and quality end results
  • Develop training documentation and be able to lead training sessions specific to a client's installation
  • Lead the formal transition to production and project knowledge to the dedicated customer support resource
  • Provide remote and on-site support and provide follow-up regarding all issues/requirements
  • Support Client Services in the development and delivery of weekly project status reports

Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of Business Analyst with insurance industry and product knowledge experience.
  • Experience with product deployments

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Experience leading software implementations
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle
  • External client facing skills (consulting)
  • Customer management skills for administration, resolving issues and building customer relationships
  • Written, verbal communication, listening and problem-solving skills
  • Responds strongly and positively to challenging work and deadlines
  • Works as an integral part of a talented team in a fast-paced, proactive environment
  • Prior insurance experience a plus
  • Experience using Atlassian/JIRA system a plus
