Vaco is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a fast-growing DevOps team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, can lead by example, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. As a key member of the DevOps team this position is responsible for deployment of infrastructure as code with expertise in AWS.
Responsibilities:
Respond to, and resolve incidents and service requests per agreed service levels, investigating, correcting or escalating problems and communicating with team members and key stakeholders as appropriate.
Adhere to approved standard processes and maintain complete and accurate documentation to support further investigation and analysis.
Assist in the investigation and resolution of problems through root cause analysis working collaboratively with team members.
Assist with the development and implementation of agreed remedies and preventative maintenance measures.
Monitor service component capacity and initiates actions to resolve any shortfalls according to agreed procedures.
Ensure system, technical and business process knowledge remains current with internal developments, market trends and standards in order to provide specialist application advice.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration; supplemented with one or more courses in current technology or equivalent experience.
2+ years of development experience preferably Python, Linux Administration and AWS IaaC.
Basic Automation/Configuration Management experience, managing resources in SCM.
Knowledge of development lifecycles and associated best practices
Experience in Amazon Web Services.
Able to deal directly with customers in a calm and consistent manner.
Documentation and proper ticketing skills are a must
AWS certification is a plus
Knowledge of serverless technologies is a plus
