Job Description

A new global client, with US Headquarters located in Smyrna, just hired Vaco Atlanta to find a Junior Financial Analyst with 1-5 years experience and an accounting foundation (degree in accounting or some public/corporate accounting experience). This role encompasses elements of research, reporting, analysis, budgeting and more. So we're looking for someone that wants to be fully entwined in our client's business (lots of interaction with sales and operations).

This position pays from $60,000 to $70,000 depending on experience and we are looking for someone with 0-5 years of experience that's looking to take the next step in their career.

Position Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst partners with sales and operations leaders to provide financial analytics that drive business results in support of the short-term and long-term goals and objectives of the corporation. This position is responsible for supporting financial analysis and with some ancillary accounting functions (so an accounting foundation, be it garnered from education or experience, is required).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide decision support by financial modeling, business case analysis and financial/management reporting.
  • Provide a high level of availability without excess inventory.
  • Work with representatives to recommend inventory moves to meet utilization requirements.
  • Evaluate financial implications of specific business decisions/opportunities and advise management accordingly to support targeted financial performance achievement.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and sound recommendations for inventory assortment based upon compiled data.
  • Exercise judgment to determine appropriate course of action and prepare business recommendations based on sound financial analysis.
  • Create analysis using the business information system to drive the financial performance of the business.
  • Participate in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Participate in the monthly closing process with the rest of the Accounting team
  • Work across organizational boundaries at all levels of the company to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Deliver long-term projects and effectively inform management of progress throughout the project life cycle.
  • Participate in project work, with a focus on process and quality improvements.
  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials and manufacturing methods to determine effects on inventory and recommend alternatives as appropriate.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • 1-5 years Finance or Accounting experience.
  • Public Accounting Experience with express desire to move into a financial analyst role is an ideal profile.
  • Demonstrated focused and organized work style.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements.
