Lab Manager / Quality Manager in Myrtle Beach, SC at Vaco

Our client is a world market leader in laminate surface production, is seeking a Quality Manager in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Position Summary: The main purpose of this position is to be responsible for overseeing the company's lab and assist with all aspects of quality control.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Mixing of all pigments in lab.
• Assist with color matching on production lines.
• Perform tests for: Viscosity, COF, Cross-hatch, moisture, adhesion, stain, scratch, coat weight, lamination/adhesion, and tabor test
• Perform customer specific testing
• Generate/review daily production data and charts and post them on designated boards in production
• Work closely with the Director of Manufacturing to develop, oversee, and validate all aspects of product quality

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 year college degree in a relevant field of study, preferably chemistry, and relevant experience.
• Ability to pass color vision test.
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business forms.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as measurements, volumes and basic to advanced mathematical situations and problems.
