Downtown Orlando Law Firm seeking experienced Legal File Clerk to join their team.


  • Filing all documents in to the physical files.
  • Set up sub-files for records, discovery, hearings, depositions, investigation files, etc.
  • Retrieve and route requested files or filing.
  • Return files and notebooks to the shelves after the attorney, paralegal, or secretary is done reviewing.
  • Perform file shifts for each attorneys section once a week (this should be done after closed files are taken off the shelves).
  • Closing files once a month.
  • Assist in organizing or stripping closed files so they are prepared for storage.
  • Assemble boxes for closed files.
  • Maintain offsite storage records.
  • Re-label the filing cabinets.
  • Back up for office assistant when absent by scanning incoming mail and pass it out to the appropriate people.
  • Copy and scan documents (25 jobs per day).
  • Assist paralegals and secretaries with faxing documents.
  • Pick up everyone's shredding once a week.
  • Retrieving documents from eDocs and determining what should go in notebooks.
  • Sorting, hole punching, and tabbing documents for notebook creation (5-10 notebooks per day).
  • Mailing out notebooks when necessary via USPS and FedEx.
  • Redaction of voluminous records.
  • Retrieving case law for attorneys.
  • Conducting legal research.
  • Assist with trial preparation such as file organization, indexing, creating charts, and duplication.
  • Relieve the Receptionist when necessary.
  • Travel to various locations for pick up and drop off of documents.
  • Perform other duties as requested.


  • Must be able to accurately type at least 50 wpm
  • Must be able to life 25 lbs
  • Strong organizational skills, strong ability to multi-task, and attention to detail
  • Prior experience in Legal field preferable
  • High School Diploma
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
