Job Description

- Taking unresolved escalate calls from Tier II
- Troubleshooting Linux Server issues and networking issues such as NIS, DNS, LDAP.
- Installing operating system, configuration, and managing ACLs.
- Write Bash/Shell scripts to automate sys admin functions and parse data.
- Manage VMs running on Azure Cloud.
- Prepare Linux Server migration by assessing backup strategy, cloning, testing, subscription, and updated packages.
- Install and run preupgrade tools.
- Install required packages, alter upload configuration, change firewall & SELinux configuration.
- Reboot web server, configure/disable authentication.
- Review summary of results and correct errors.
- Install upgrade tool, disable active repositories, perform Linux upgrade/post update tasks, check system status, and update all packages.
- Assess system limitations, compatibility, storage configuration, boot parameters,
- Setup firstboot implementation and change mount behavior.
- Create root file system layout, enable system management tools, utilize new logging framework, organize localization settings, and setup system resource management to group processes with control groups.
- Organize file system format, physical storage, network configuration tools, clustering, and high availability.
- Create Linux desktop environments, developer toolsets & libraries, security & access control.
- Manage Azure cloud infrastructure including running VMWare on Azure cloud.
- Setup Docker containerization for virtualization of services.
- Manage storage solutions for VM virtual hard disks, database files, user data, and application data.
- Monitor unauthorized access to secure data and perform data backups.
- Protect Azure Active Directory accounts and reduce attack vulnerabilities to Azure resources.
