Our wonderful Hotel Management client (one of the best places to work in Metro Atlanta) is searching for their next Maintenance Director (aka Facilities Director or Chief Engineer). This role pays up to $90K and the responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Good understanding of technology and dealing with systems, including but not limited to Siemens, Lutron lighting, water systems, electrical, refrigeration, and other integrated systems.
  • Good understanding and ability to trouble shoot HVAC systems, electrical plumbing, roof top boilers, swimming pools, commercial kitchen equipment, security controls, generators and/or any other electrical or gas equipment/units in the community.
  • Manage the maintenance of the overall physical plant (big box hotel). Ensure systems are in good operating condition showing evidence of orderliness, good repair, and cleanliness including all building components (roof, interior & exterior floors/walls, doors, paved surfaces and landscaping).
  • Able to create and implement preventive maintenance programs including fire safety and disaster planning.
  • Supervise Maintenance staff concerning specific areas of responsibility which include quality standards, department policies and procedures, and service levels.
    • Work with external Clients, Vendors and Contractors based on business needs.
  • Interview and select maintenance services personnel.
  • Good listening, critical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Maintain a high degree of composure and tact with guests and internal departments.
    • Maintains and adheres to environmental services departmental policies/procedures relative to OSHA, Department of Health Services, NFPA, and other governing agency regulations and standards.
  • Coordinates, schedules, oversees, and conducts employee training throughout all departments.
  • Manages a team and maintains inventory supplies.
  • Assists in maintaining department budget compliance.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to decrease costs and increase service levels.
  • Prior hotel or institutional (commercial) maintenance experience of at least 4 years or more is required.
  • Previous experience in management of maintenance/engineering specific to electrical, plumbing, HVAC system, ventilation system and carpentry.
  • Working knowledge and experience with swimming pool maintenance. Experience ordering supplies and inventory.
  • Must be able to maintain guest satisfaction scores at brand standard or higher and all Internal Audit/Corporate standards set forth by our client's team.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with guests and staff. Must be able to lead a Team of 2 or more people.
