The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintenance support of pneumatic, electrical and mechanical Assembly Department fixtures, work stations, and supporting equipment, etc. Manage the Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure continuous and safe operation of all tools and equipment. Manage driver maintenance and calibration program. Manage sewing machine set up and maintenance. Work with equipment vendors on new equipment requirements. Support the Continuous Improvement initiatives in areas of single piece flow, 5S, quick changeover, line balancing, etc.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Design, purchase, fabricate, and install equipment as needed to continue the lean implementation of assembly operations.
  • Source and maintain inventory of replacement parts and components to ensure continuous operation of equipment.
  • Work with Product Design Team to establish torque standards for new products and evaluate changes required for existing products
  • Identify and correct maintenance, ergonomic and safety issues.
  • Continue to learn methods of line balancing work content and install improvements as needed.
  • Serve as member of Safety & Lean Implementation Teams
  • Maintain documentation consistent with ISO certification
  • Read blue prints, manufacturer's work instructions, specifications to ensure proper operation of purchased equipment.
  • Design and fabricate mechanical/electrical fixtures and secondary equipment that support the assembly operation.
  • Understand PLC programming/troubleshooting and relay logic.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to work with production associates in the form of training, and gathering input to implement changes on assembly lines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams to complete assigned tasks.
  • Self-starter with ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and provide direction to others

Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in technical trade
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word and Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Work under high pressure and fast paced environment
