Product Manager

Job Responsibilities:

Ongoing management and marketing of products from inception to exit. Participates in the development of products by identifying potential product opportunities; conducting market research; determining specifications for strong competitive positioning, works with team to meet cost and timeline targets, recommends pricing, defines and coordinates plans for product launches; develops marketing strategies for specific channels to drive revenue, merchandizes product online; monitors performance and creates and manages exit strategy when needed.

Job Duties:

  • In the context of corporate and department goals, determines customers' needs and identifies product opportunities.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Determines product performance goals and develops product sales strategies to achieve those goals
  • Assesses product data to measure performance and take any necessary steps.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
  • Works with purchasing to help facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules based on strategy and product performance.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing comprehensive plans and timelines.
  • Recommends product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing costs that take into account minimum order quantities and forecasts.
  • Web merchandising of products and product categories
  • Is the advocate and takes leadership role on cross functional team that deals with product from inception to discontinuation.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years in product management/marketing
  • Preferred experience in at least on of the following categories: Nutritional supplements, Skincare and makeup, Beverages and food and/or Essential oils
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of the Product Development Process, Creation and Execution of marketing strategies, Web merchandising, and Pricing
  • Clear and Concise Communication
  • Flexible, can function well in Dynamic Environment
  • Understands the importance of change and continuous improvement
