Job Description

The Marketing Specialist will assist the Marketing Manager and the Marketing department. This role will work collaboratively with staff from across the organization to promote marketing goals and messages while maintaining and aligning with corporate message and image. This person will play a pivotal role in executing and refining company credibility while working to create and execute integrated marketing campaigns ensuring consistency in voice and brand.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

WEB + EMAIL COORDINATION

  • General light website maintenance, including editing product pages, blogs, graphics, and other marketing content.
  • Use creative thinking and initiative to analyze site performance and make recommendations on content, site design or features to improve user experience.
  • Create and distribute monthly Sales e-blasts via Mail Chimp platform.
  • Manage Google Analytics reporting and tracking.
  • Act as primary point of contact for online PR/media tracking service. Pull and maintain monthly media hit reports for products.

PR + COMMUNICATIONS

  • Organize PR hits and maintain Marketing contact database for influencers, reviewers, editors, bloggers, and other key media contacts. Assist in research and outreach for new brand influencers and reviewers.
  • Maintain Marketing sample inventory. Coordinate and ship all marketing samples. Track and ensure delivery and communicate to recipients.
  • Coordinate and submit products for awards. Research new awards opportunities and maintain awards spreadsheet.

EVENTS

  • Act as main point of contact for Envoy volunteer program for game demos, special events, in-store play events, and trade shows.
  • Coordinate design and delivery of event materials and products.
  • Provide event recaps and post-mortem reports or surveys as needed.
  • Participate as active event staff at trade shows and consumer or media events as needed.

GENERAL MARKETING SUPPORT

  • Update product information in various department databases and spreadsheets.
  • Assist in marketing planning and communication with licensors and other business partners.
  • Other support as assigned including, but not limited to: assisting the marketing team with planning, brainstorming, event kit assembly, sample orders, product documents and decks, presentations, trade shows, customer service, proofing, file organization, meeting note-taking, and administrative tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Learns quickly and able to change in fast paced environment with ability to handle the pressure of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience.
  • ~85% onsite, 15% travel.
  • Local candidates only.

JOB/INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of pop culture industry (film, TV, comic book, graphic novel, anime, video game, tabletop game, literature, toys, collectibles) required.
  • Knowledge of Mail Chimp, SmartSheet, Sprout Social, Wrike, Amazon Marketing Services, website CMS, Google Analytics and AdWords is preferred, but not required.
  • Web publishing experience a plus.
