Vaco is working with a growing, long establihed client with headquarters in Norcross / Peachtree Corners, GA on a newly created position for a Mechanical Design Engineer - Electromechanical

Job purpose

The Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer develops and interprets technical specifications required by customers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead design reviews with the engineering team to ensure designs meet client requirements, GD&T standards, and quality requirements
  • Creation and refinement of technical drawings to capture design intent and document the key aspects necessary to accomplish the manufacturing goals of a project
  • Creation and refinement of Schematic diagrams and Electrical Wiring Diagrams
  • Development of circuit designs based on customer input and operation requirements
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documents such as bill of materials, installation and maintenance manuals, etc. for each project
  • Perform root cause, apparent cause and/or common cause analysis and testing activities, when required
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Provide technical support to assemblers and integrators
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
  • Maintain schedules through interaction with project management, engineering, production personnel, and customers
  • Maintain ongoing project requirements and specifications for multiple projects
  • Interaction with vendors to resolve design issues


  • BS or MS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical design engineering, specifically in areas of design and risk mitigation, testing, and project management
  • Experience with failure analysis methodologies and implementation; panel fabrication and simulators
  • Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD software
  • Experience with NFPA-70 National Electric code NEC requirements
