Job Description

Are you a medical biller who is seeking an exciting role with a progressive and well established company? In this role you will manage processing of electronic and manual claims, as well as follow up activities for hospital charges. We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience working within a healthcare setting as a biller and/or collector. This is a direct hire opportunity and salary is $18-$22/hr depending upon experience.


  • At least 2 years Medical Billing and Collections experience
  • Usage of an EMR system such as Centricity, EcW, Greenway, Allscripts, Epic etc.
  • Has knowledge of CMS billing rules/NCCI, HIPAA AND RMH policies and procedures, billing edits and payor requirements for Hospital or Facility Billing types.
  • Can review charges and payments electronic and manually
  • Billing Guarantors for Self-Pay, Non-Covered Services, or Member liability amounts.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently in addition to being a team player.
  • Must be detail oriented and undisturbed by complexities of duties and variety of details.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Additional skills, experience, and attributes:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification in Medical Coding (ICD-10-CPT), a plus.
  • Data entry skills (typing, 10-key).
  • Experience in resolving rejected claim issues.
  • Excellent understanding of HCPCS and ICD-10 coding.
  • Experience with electronic claims (837) submission.
  • ability/experience with resolving coding issues (e.g. research coding books, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand insurance/payer billing requirements.
  • Experience with In and Out of Network billing practices.
  • Problem solving and interpersonal skills, ability to think strategically.
  • CPC preferred.
