Job Description

The qualified candidate for this role would have an understanding of and the ability to perform all needed month end close processes such as account reconciliations and journal entries globally. This position also responsible for supporting and performing necessary analysis and processes for all audit requests, both financial and JSox related.

  • Monitor, review, and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Review journal entries submitted by the business to ensure compliance with accounting policy (accuracy and appropriate approvals) then post the entries into SAP or escalate to management any issues or non-compliance.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for other month end closing processes owned by the accounting team.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and identify non-reconciled items and advise management giving recommendations for resolution.
  • Upload completed account reconciliations into SMART.
  • Identify, research, and clear older reconciling items in accordance with the company's account verification practices/policies.
  • Prepare global reconciliation of subledgers and advise management of any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post DR/CR memos relating to customer contracts.
  • Work with J-Sox and Financial audit teams to supply appropriate documentation for audit selections (monthly and annual audits).
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset accounting as directed.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Contributes ideas and actions towards the continuous improvement of processes within area of influence. Including recognizing and communicating potential issues to his/her team leader as appropriate.
  • Successfully handle most non-routine issues, escalates to management issues that cannot be resolved.
  • Requires minimal supervision to manage daily activities and is able to meet published deadlines for activities.
  • Adaptable to learn new processes, concepts, and skills.
  • Performs responsibilities in full compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in ensuring efforts of the Accounting Team support building strong vendor relationships.
  • Team player who will assist in establishing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with internal personnel (Controllers, Corporate, Departmental) and external customers to identify additional ways to be of service and ensure customer satisfaction.


Position Requirements

  • 4 year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. (MBA preferred)
  • 3+ years working in Accounting/Finance. (Experience working in Fixed Assets preferred)
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office productivity tools.
  • Exposure working with implementation and/or working with ERP General Accounting. (SAP FI/CO preferred)
