SUMMARY:
Plays a critical role in the implementation, maintenance, and administration of server based systems. Ensures the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the systems that support core organizational functions by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems.

Responsible for supporting and extending multiple data centers and remote locations to include server builds and support, storage solutions, messaging and directory services, data center hardware and services, and IT customer service. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining network security, business continuity, records and documentation, and vendor relationships.
Point of escalation for technical issues unable to be resolved by the Service Desk. Ensures the security and integrity of networks and systems. Plays a lead role in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as PCI and SOX at all locations. Implements system engineering projects according to goals and time frames established by the Director of IT Operations.
Ensures that project, support, & operational goals are accomplished by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: .
  • Manage Active Directory Domain; including WINS, DHCP, IIS, DNS including user accounts/rights/permissions, group policies, etc.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and analyze failures to minimize outages and interruptions
  • Perform enterprise-wide server and desktop systems patching for OS and standard applications
  • Maintain and support backup solutions and backup schedule
  • Manage operational configuration of all corporate and commercial servers
  • Interact with a broad user-base of corporate and field employees for all technology issues and escalations.
  • Assist in maintaining Information Security policies and procedures.
  • Assist in creating and maintain Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Assist in maintaining corporate server infrastructure documentation (hardware, software).
  • Perform hardware/software upgrades as required to maintain a secure and healthy network.
  • Interface with support vendors to resolve network and system issues.
  • Maintain warranty/maintenance contracts.
  • Monitor system logs and respond system events.
  • Install, monitor, and support anti-virus software and other desktop and server based security products
  • Perform data migration to new systems
  • Responsible for IT inventory and procurement
  • Prepare for and participate in security audits, SOX compliance, periodic PCI reviews and closes out any open items in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows and Active Directory
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with authentication and directory services (Active Directory), etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Windows system management tools, philosophies and methods
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Windows automation (scripting, imaging, installation, management)
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with antivirus/malware and patch management technologies
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, RAS, VPN)
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with collaborative technologies, such as Microsoft Exchange
  • Intermediate understanding of virtualization concepts and functional working skills with various virtualization technologies (create/modify virtual machines, create storage groups, snapshot, clone/export, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge of shared storage concepts and functional working skills with various shared storage technologies (provisioning LUNs, expanding volumes, configuring RAID, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge of network concepts and functional working skills with various network technologies (create vLAN, create static route, diagnose routing problems, configure ports, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Windows and network security best practices and strategies
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Availability to work in excess of 40 hours a week with little to no notice whenever needed
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
  • Must be available for on-call rotation with the ability to respond to the needs of a 24x7 environment
