Job Description

Vaco Indianapolis has partnered with a company located in Columbus Indiana to fill a contract Mortgage Disclosure Specialist role.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
* Prepare a mortgage adverse action statement for every denied loan application. * Prepare a lending estimate with each new approved loan application. * Prepare an updated set of disclosures whenever there has been a change of circumstances. * Monitor our processing pipeline to assure that all loans have a flood determination in file prior to closing. * Monitor the flood insurance tracking process for accuracy and adequacy. * Review the high cost and high priced limits for all mortgage loans. * Work with the loan platform administrator to verify that all fees are being calculated correctly with regards to APR and prepaid finance charges. * Monitor the processing timeline for timeliness and customer service. * Makes recommendations regarding more efficient methods and procedures; prepares interdepartmental reports documenting procedures and examinations performed, as well as audit results and expressing opinions as to the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; submits detailed reports and discusses various exceptions, findings, recommendations and progress with department head for final determination; and may present reports. * Assisting to develop and/or maintain regulatory manuals; disseminate information and updates to appropriate personnel; and may coordinate implementation of changes through specialized compliance training. * Assist in maintaining department manuals outlining measures and procedures for mortgage lending and mortgage lending compliance.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
* Position prefers BA or BS degree in accounting, statistics, computer fraud, business law or related field or specialized bank business finance certification, plus two years related to, or compatible with, audit, compliance or related bank experience.
