Job Description



Vaco Technology is assisting one of our clients in their search for a full-time Network Architect/Engineer in North Central Indiana. This position is responsible for designing, building, maintaining and monitoring our client's ISP environment as well as their corporate networks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Open Shortest Path First routing protocol (OSPF), Platform Independent Multicast routing protocol (PIM), Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Syslog, Mac Address Tables, Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) tables, and Wireshark captures to help with automatic provisioning and monitoring of networks.
  • Support the outside technicians and IT staff on Telephony soft switch (Metaswitch) maintenance and analysis and Dasan Zhone edge deployment technology.
  • Assist other employees on other Windows/Unix based systems as needed, such as Fixed Wireless network management system, Spiceworks, Oreka Voice recording system, Minerva and Innovative IPTV Middleware systems.
  • Some scripting will be part of this job
  • Provision Juniper MX-40 routers, EX switches and SRX firewalls via Command Line Interfaces (CLIs). Researches new technologies to determine applicability to today and future of the networks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Four year college or university program certificate; or two to four-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in Radio Frequency (RF) and Fiber network engineering, multicast and unicast video, transcoders and trans rating, modulators, Radio Frequency over Glass (RFoG), light budgets, optical power meters, and optical time-domain reflectometer devices
  • Strong IT background working with routing, switches and internet protocol.
  • A telecommunications background and previous supervisory experience is desired.
  • Previous Juniper training is desired as well.

TERMS

  • This is a full-time opportunity with a starting salary between $90 and $115K.
