Network Security Engineer Contractor Overview:

The successful candidate will rate themselves as a security professional. The Senior Engineer will work alongside members of the network and security infrastructure team, working closely with other team members to design, install, operate, manage and enhance a comprehensive set of network and security infrastructure tools and solutions.

The successful candidate will have had experience operating many common network and security tool sets and be an expert in at least two of the following areas: - Network and Infrastructure security, End-Point Security, Security management, Cloud security, Application Security.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of five years 5 experience in operating, supporting, and managing network and security infrastructure technologies and solutions:

Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, proxy servers, IDS/IPS, WAF, load balancers, wired and wireless networks and end-point security controls including knowledge of tools and services such as CASB and Cloud SOC.

Must possess a thorough understanding of the latest information security risks and threats and understand the techniques and controls to mitigate these

Must have strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong documentation and presentation skills.

Demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, working proficiently both on their own and on collaborative team efforts.

IaaS Cloud Security experience with mainly AWS in addition to Azure and common SaaS solutions.

Candidate must hold a BS degree in a related field, and possess a current recognized security certification such as CISSP (or equivalent)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Configure, support, and maintain network and security infrastructure tools in compliance with security standards, following procedures and guidelines.

Creating and maintaining documentation for design documents and operational procedures for new and existing services.

Presenting solutions and solution options to management and communicating and training other team members as required.

Perform common operations including policy/rules changes; code upgrades; troubleshooting; research incidents and technical issues with vendors/partners

Communicate with customers on service requests; provide timely status updates and reports

Responds to service problem, change tickets, and ability to participate in scheduled on-call rotations for afterhours support.

Ability to lead efforts, guide peers, offer advice, and train less experienced staff.

Leads project efforts by defining requirements, design specifications, deployment plans, and provides progress status updates to management
