Responsibilities
  • Inspects and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Recommends measures to help protect team members, visitors and patients from potentially unsafe environments.
  • Conducts safety training and education programs, and demonstrates the use of safety equipment.
  • Conducts accident investigations to identify casual factors and provide appropriate recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Performs basic industrial hygiene functions including testing, sampling, evaluations of results, record keeping and employee notification.
  • Ensures that all testing equipment is maintained and inspected per manufacturer's recommendations and/or industry standards.
  • Participates in performance improvement (PI) activities related to safety including data analysis, identification, and monitoring of indicators.
  • Assists in the development of safety policies, procedures and training programs.
  • Manages work assignments efficiently to ensure compliance with timelines and maintain work product accuracy.
  • Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works cooperatively with team members and leadership to optimize delivery of environmental, health and safety services.
  • Maintains proficiency using computer software programs essential to efficient, accurate and professional management of position responsibilities.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures
Requirements

  • Associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene or related technical field.
  • Three (3) years professional Environmental, Health and Safety experience.
  • Familiar with federal and state of Florida Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
