Oracle BI Developer (7-month contract w/ potential to extend)
Target Rate: $65/hr

Location: Newport Beach, CA

Summary:

The Oracle BI Developer is responsible for building enterprise reports and dashboards using OBIEE (Oracle Business Enterprise Edition) 12C. The primary responsibilities include: design and develop reports, coordinate and collaborate with the deployment team, and documentation and training. Strong commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and a quality product is essential.

Primary responsibilities/essential functions: (including the following, other duties may be assigned)

  • Translate user requirements and build reports using modules including BI Publisher, Answers, and Visual Analyzer
  • Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable repository objects designed from ROLAP data models, hierarchies, levels
  • Complete initial testing of development for the business users and relay areas or methods of testing
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of ad hoc report development processes
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address ad hoc performance related issues
  • Create standard documentation for repository structure and provide metadata for business owners, end-user and team members
  • Contribute throughout project life cycles, from planning to production implementation, including the creation of functional designs, technical designs and test plans for repository models and reports

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of OBIEE 12C report development work experience including RPD development
  • Strong understanding of creating of XML data templates in BI Publisher
  • Strong knowledge of creating report layout templates in BI Publisher
  • Solid knowledge of OBIEE migration and merges of repositories, web catalogs, upgrades and security configurations
  • Solid knowledge and experience writing complex SQL and PLSQL code
  • Possess strong customer service mindset
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and be flexible to daily changing priorities
  • Experience partnering in a collaborate environment to build positive working relationships
  • Experience prioritizing and managing time and resources effectively
  • Strong sense of accountability, responsibility, and ownership
