Job Description

Vaco Indianapolis has partnered with a growing CPA firm located in Lawerenceburg, Indiana to fill a Part-Time Bookkeeper role.

Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper with 2+ years of bookkeeping experience and Quickbooks experience.
This position is Part-Time and will work between 10-20 hours per week.

Duties include but not limited to:
  • Works with the firm owner and clients to collect necessary information to produce monthly preparation of financial statements
  • Prepares general ledger entries from documents and information gathered by the client and QuickBooks software
  • Calculates & verifies that payments, amounts, & records are correct
  • Prepares and updates Excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to reconcile accounts, perform account analysis, and complete bank and credit/debit card reconciliations timely within 15-30 days of the month closing
  • Answers accounting and financial questions through researching and interpreting data
  • Understands how to read and interpret a financial statement
  • Ensures all transactions are recorded accurately and timely throughout the month
  • Manages the day-to-day of the client's accounting system
  • Prepares financial statements
  • Prepares monthly bookkeeping reports
  • Records, organizes, and maintains an accurate filing system through the company's document storage system and hard copy filings
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate professionally and with the proper etiquette
  • Demonstrates ability to diagnose a problem, come up with creative solutions, and evaluate the best possible solution
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Maintains client confidentiality and keeps client information secure
  • Ensures payroll is entered timely and accurately

Requirements:
  • Required: Minimum 2 years Accounting/Bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or Desktop versions
  • Intermediate Skills in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
