Job Description

Vaco Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator for a healthcare services provider located in the Midtown/Downtown Atlanta area. The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, an effective communicator, and has a healthcare background or interest in pursuing a career in the medical field.

This is a temp to perm role and the pay range is $16-$18/hr depending upon experience.

Duties:

  • Provides superior patient care
  • Maintains front office: supplies, equipment, waiting area
  • Obtains accurate patient information and enters into the EMR system
  • Obtains all regulatory data
  • Obtains accurate insurance information according to policies
  • Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Obtains pre-authorizations and pre-certifications
  • Checks quality of patient registrations
  • Constantly maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Coordinates schedules of practitioners and patient appointments
  • Follows all departmental policies and procedures
  • Ensures appropriate signatures and consent forms are received and processed
  • Assists patient education team with promoting knowledge and support within the practice
  • Handles patient inquiries and conflict-resolution
  • Handles patient correspondence and acts as a liaison between patients and practitioners

Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Some College preferred
  • 2-4 years in a health care setting with direct patient care
  • Knowledge of Medical Insurance and terminology
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Administrative support skills
