Our client, located near Elizabeth, NJ is adding a Payroll Accountant to the team.

In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Assist with processing bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for over 800 employees.
  • Play a critical role in compiling, recording, and processing payroll data, including but not limited to computing employee time, posting wages and deductions and preparing pay checks.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources team to assure accuracy of employee's records and deductions including benefits
  • Review and audit semi-monthly payroll data prior to submission to Human Assets Manager and HRIS to identify all changes in each payroll and match changes to authorizing document

Requirements for the position include:

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience processing multi state payroll for companies with 500+ employees.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources.
  • Experience processing payroll for public or governmental entities with pension.
  • FPC or CPP Certification via American Payroll Association preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office(Word, Excel) and Ceridian preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local, state and federal payroll rules and regulations Proficient in Microsoft Office, PC literate (internet, excel, word and Outlook)
