Job Description

Vaco is seeking a Payroll Analyst for a great client of ours located in the Perimeter area. This role is designed to support the payroll department by performing a wide variety duties including computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, and processing terminations, as well as administrative duties. This is a long term contract (3-4 months, could go to 6 months) and the pay is negotiable depending upon experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares, processes and maintains payroll calculations;
  • Processes payroll distribution, direct deposit and Ad hoc payroll inquiries
  • Assists payroll manager with various internal/external projects (Sox compliance payroll walk-throughs, worker compensation audits, implementation, etc.)
  • Assists with quarterly year-end reconciliations for 4 FEIN
  • Works closely with Payroll Manager and Payroll Specialists to review and audit payroll data
  • Assist with Quarterly payroll tax payments
  • Cross-trains within the Payroll department, as needed
  • Ability to work additional hours during high peak times to include year-end and implementation

Knowledge and Experience

  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices, supported by proven experience
  • Experience compiling, analyzing and reviewing data. Excel skills required (vlookup, pivot, etc).
  • Strong presentation and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in business, accounting or relevant field a plus
  • Experience with Oracle payroll software a plus
