Payroll and HR Director - Norfolk, VA

Direct Hire - $90k - $110k

Currently seeking a Payroll and HR Director for a reputable real estate company in Norfolk, VA. This position is a leadership role with 6-8 direct reports. The ideal candidate for this role must be a hands-on leader with ample experience in payroll and HR. ADP Workforce now experience required.

Responsibilities

  • • Develop methods and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws/regulations.
  • • Advise senior management on latest developments, trends, and legal requirements affecting employees, employers, and their relationships.
  • • Create and deliver communications/activities that promote employee understanding of goals of the company, include current vents in planning and implementation of the goals
  • • Ensure employee engagement and satisfaction are periodically measured to ascertain success of programs
  • • High volume experience required - must advise 1000+ employees about company policies and problem-solving alternatives
  • • Mediate conflict/facilitate problem solving among team members as required
  • • Coordinate all employee claims, FMLA, grievances, etc.
  • • Work towards continued development of payroll department - updating software, manuals, forms, processes, providing training opportunities for staff
  • • Oversee, review, and approve payroll funding requests, imports, and journal entries
  • • Analyze and review payroll informational reports related to quarter and year-end processing
  • • Oversee, research, and resolve IRS or state payroll tax issues

Qualifications

  • • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or accreditations: SHRM, SCP, SPHR, etc.
  • • Several years of demonstrated growth and leadership in Payroll Management and Human Resources
  • • Proficient in MS Office, ADP Workforce Now, and working knowledge of Affordable Care Act filings and benefit eligibility, Access, and Excel
  • • Knowledge of Payroll and HR laws/regulations
