We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Manager for a reputable and growing company in Richmond. This position supervisors 2 direct reports within the Payroll Department, and is essential in the payroll processing and day-to-day operations within the department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise staff and participate in the processing of multi-state semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees
  • Verify and approve changes in salary, exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions, etc.
  • Balance payroll accounts; research and resolve discrepancies with payroll
  • Assist with benefits/payroll issues
  • Respondsto 401k inquiries; processes loans and withdrawals
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deduction, leave, disability, and wages
  • Oversee the timely preparation of annual reporting (W2s, etc.)
  • Process employee salary changes, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, and monitor/track PTO
  • Coordinate benefits administration (claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment)
  • Oversee systems administration of open enrollment for benefits
  • Write and update payroll and benefits policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional/technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll
  • Minimum 2-3 years in benefits administration
