Job Description

The Payroll Manager will oversee the company payroll process and coordinate payroll systems, including compilation and posting of employee time and payroll data; maintenance of electronic time system and other records for computation of employees' time worked; and performance of certain payroll-compliance tasks, including working with state authorities.

This position manages associated processes, generates accounting entries to be posted in the general ledger, and involves consistent communication with both Human Resources and the CFO.

  • Manage the payroll process ensuring employees are paid timely and accurately.
  • Experience with ADP/ Kronos Software.
  • Liaise with HR to update payroll related employee information including, but not limited to, changes in pay rate, W4 information, direct deposits, benefit deductions.
  • Review time sheets and other information in order to detect payroll discrepancies. Reconcile and correct any such discrepancies.
  • Multi-state payroll experience
  • Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
  • Provide timely and responsive communication and/or resolution to payroll related queries received from employees and management.
  • Liaise with the accounting group and assist with month-end adjustments, including accruals.
  • Prepare reports based on payroll process and all associated function to serve as detail and documentation of financial activities.
  • Assist in the preparation for and participates in audits requiring access to payroll documentation.
  • Assist in the year-end audit and other Finance activities/projects including process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and updates documentation relating to payroll process and procedures.
