Job Description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll/Staff Accountant will have full responsibility for processing multi-state bi-weekly payroll for 300+ employees, Accounts Payable processing, credit card reconciliations and assisting HR with new hire orientation among other requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly and multi state payrolls including 401k payments and tax payments.
  • Produce bi-weekly reporting to Sr Leadership regarding over time hours and actual compared to budget hours
  • Loading Subcontractor hours in to WinTeam for inclusion in reporting on hours.
  • Quarterly Tax reporting to IRS and State of GA and TN.
  • Year End Tax Reporting to IRS and State of GA and TN.
  • Processing vendor invoices and payments via check or ACH.
  • Acquiring and maintaining W9's for all vendors.
  • Working alongside the Sr Accountant to reconcile credit card transactions to statements.
  • Back-up for subcontractor payments.
  • Assist HR with New Hire Orientation as needed.
  • Assist HR with ACA reporting.
  • Assisting with required reporting for annual workers comp audits.
  • Assisting and following through with IRS inquiries and communications.
  • Assist Sr Accountant with payroll related account reconciliations.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the CFO/Controller.

Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred

Knowledge & Experience

  • Three to five years in financial accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of A/P and Payroll and a general understanding of all other aspects of accounting.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision (remote part time supervisor) to meet deadlines
