Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

Process payroll data for new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, rate changes, retroactive
Assist with Leave and Time Management system.
Import hours from Time and Labor Management system for Salary Non-Exempt and Hourly employee's for PTO and overtime calculations.
Update and balance special pay items, such as, bonuses, commissions, stock transactions and true-up overtime.
Process payrolls for the exercise of incentive stock options, non-qualified stock options and restricted stock. Ensure tax withholding deposits according to IRS regulations.
Verify and balance all payroll entries prior to completing the transmission to third party.
General Ledger file and payroll summary balanced and submitted to finance for month-end.
Compiles reports as well as, researches and produces special reports.
Review and take appropriate actions on payroll tax issues to ensure an accurate and timely resolution.
Respond to employee inquiries and/or issues.

Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of payroll experience or equivalent business experience required. Some knowledge of international payrolls preferred.
Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to payroll and benefits including FLSA, FMLA, ADA and ERISA and workers' compensation.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization with diplomacy and tact.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high level of initiative and confidentiality.
Ability to have a flexible schedule at critical reporting deadlines. Organized, detailed, meticulous and highly numeric. Ability to maintain a high level of productivity during stressful periods and ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
Must have ADP, Workday, Paychex or similar payroll experience.
Must have Mid-Tier or better ERP experience ie MS Dynamics, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP etc.

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for using ADP to record and process all employee time and payroll data. This will require that youobserve and manage multiple deadlines.

Your daily duties and responsibilities in this role will generally include:

  • Tracking and auditing employee time and attendance
  • Maintaining employee vacation/PTO calendars
  • Maintaining database, including all additions, terminations and changes
  • Managing all employee deductions, both mandatory and voluntary
  • Conducting monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliation and reporting
  • Providing overall support to the HR department
  • Completing special projects as assigned
