As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll department, tax payments, and filings.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Staying current on payroll tax changes and regulations
  • Analyzing and implementing process and procedural improvements
  • Preparing month-end journal entries and reconcile related balance sheet accounts
  • Reviewing expense reports to ensure compliance with corporate policies

If you…

  • Have proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Accounting Specialist with responsibilities for overseeing payroll
  • Possess current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
  • Have an excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
  • Have familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS (Payolcity experience preferred) and MS Office (strong Excel skills preferred)
  • Have exceptional attention to detail
  • Have an analytical mind and good math skills; prefer accounting experience
  • Have outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
  • Have strong organizational and leadership skills; ability to guide and develop a payroll team
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPP, CPM) is a plus
  • Possess a minimum of a BS/BA degree with at least 3 years of experience and a track record in leading a payroll program and team of Payroll Administrators
  • Have an unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
  • Possesses understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality; able to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA and PHI standards
  • Possess cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • You are an analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate objectives and goals effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
