Vaco has partnered with a growing organization on the NW side of Indy for this exciting Payroll/Tax Specialist opportunity!

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

* Reconcile payroll tax reporting after each pay run to ensure accurate filings by tax service provider.
* Manage filing of tax updates weekly.
* Monitor quarterly tax filings.
* Prepare headcount tax forms.
* Reconcile cash activity to Payroll and ADP Tax Services reports.
* Reconcile Payroll reports to 941s and W-2s.
* Special projects and research.
* Research and reconciliation of payroll taxes from prior periods.
* Gather and report requested data to internal and external recipients.
* Provide information and assistance related to payroll tax, both internally and externally
* Oversee the payroll tax functions for multiple payroll entities
* Responsible for all quarterly and annual tax filings and reconciliations between ADP Smart Compliance & Temp Works ATS/payroll system. As well as tax reconciliations in Paycom.
* Communication with local and state agencies to apply for tax IDs and to close accounts as necessary
* Working knowledge of payroll best practices
* Administer annual W2 processes and submissions timely
* 2-4 years experience with payroll tax filings and compliance issues.
* Strong accounting skills, detail oriented, proficient in excel
* Must be able to create reconciliations that clearly communicate.
* Experience reconciling and preparing W-2 forms.
* Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers.
* Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, communication, and prioritizing skills
* Proficient with email system; Microsoft Outlook preferred
* Highly proficient using complete Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, and PC skills
* Deadline driven; Attention to detail
* Knowledgeable with federal and state regulations; Multi-State payroll taxation
* Working knowledge of payroll best practices
* Strong work ethic and team player


  • Associates Degree preferred
  • 4 plus years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations as it pertains to employee withholdings
