Our client, an insurance company, located in Hightstown, NJ, is adding a Payroll & Tax Specialist, to the team.

In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Processing bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate input of payroll-related data necessary to process and meet payroll schedules
  • Setting up and processing direct deposits, garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, severances, stop payments, 401k and payroll adjustments.
  • Creating and distributing all semi-monthly payroll reports, including: overtime, general ledger, payroll detail, unemployment wages.
  • Preparing and paying premium and sales and use tax returns based on general instructions, related state regulations and prior year work papers.
  • Premium tax reporting for the insurance companies, including preparation and reconciliation of the premium tax accrual.

Requirements for the position include:

  • 4 year Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required
  • 2+ years relevant experience
  • Excellent computer skills, especially Excel (advanced skill level)
  • Knowledge of multistate payroll regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
