Payroll Tax Specialist- Durham, NC

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responds to tax authority, Payroll Outsource and Client inquiries in a professional and timely manner

  • Communicate with Payroll Outsource, Clients and Tax Authority regarding inquiries, providing excellent service

  • Adhere to Payroll, Printing, and Security Control Policies and Procedures

  • Efficiently Amend/Remit tax returns in compliance with client standards and tax authority for Federal, State, and Local Territory Tax Authority

  • Work closely with Cash Management, Customer Support, Cash Management and Financial Reporting Teams

  • Communicate with implementation team to ensure account accuracy

  • Maintain relationships with distributors assisting with new account set up and data conversion, ensuring the balancing of tax information.

  • Work with clients to provide solutions and identify new opportunities while providing excellent customer service

  • Keep track of Electronic Funds Transfers, Power of Attorney, and online filing credentials for the company and our clients

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of associate degree is Preferable

  • 2-5 years of payroll tax processing experience either in a corporate or service bureau capacity

  • Understanding of Master Tax Functionality

  • Automated tax systems experience

  • In Depth Knowledge of current government tax filing systems and procedures

  • Proven ability to accurately meet deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion as a rule
