Job Description

Vaco Atlanta is currently working on several project and program manager consulting roles in the finance and sales operations verticals. These roles are newly created to link our client's technology team to its' finance operations to accelerate the delivery of value add programs and projects to support our client's finance and operations teams. A PMP or PgMP certification is required. This role provides expertise in understanding business priorities and objectives, driving roadmap deliveries based on business priorities and objectives, adhering to all critical project delivery guiding principles and implementing change management and risk management requirements to ensure successful project implementations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a solid understanding of client's financial business processes and technologies.
  • Work with users and project stakeholders to define and capture requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with technology and Finance product teams to deliver new solutions and enhance existing ones.
  • Develop communication plans & status reports throughout project lifecycle that will vary based on audience.
  • Work with business units, Finance and Technology to ensure UAT (User Acceptance Testing) is executed in a timely manner.
  • Develop a project plan to track progress against key milestones & IT/Finance/Business commitments.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project delivery specific documentation (Project Kickoff deck, UAT Execution Plan, Training Plans, Communication Plan, Project Delivery Status reports, etc.).
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors required for project implementation.
  • Perform risk management to minimize/mitigate project risks.
  • Collaborate with, while effectively challenging, cross functional partners to achieve strong results.
  • Collaborate with internal Global Process Business Owners, Finance Experts, and Finance subject matter experts to help drive standardized processes.
  • Manage and coordinate project meetings, record/maintain meeting minutes and develop weekly status reports, dashboards and other communications i.e., project issue, risk and decision logs
  • Effectively communicate the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines to manager and other stakeholders on projects
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance or related field; Master's degree is a plus
  • 4+ years equivalent Project &/or Portfolio Management experience
  • PgMP and/or PMP certifications strongly preferred
  • Experience managing projects/programs working with Finance, Accounting and Operations teams (in conjunction with IT but not IT centric)
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new business and technical concepts is required
  • Proven track record in successfully delivering complex projects
  • Global project experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Project and Visio required
  • Able to effectively present information & respond to questions from groups
  • Strong analytical, integrative and problem solving skills; critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Act as a self-starter and be willing to take initiative and work with limited supervision
