Job Description

Our Client, located on the West Side of Indianapolis is looking to add to their team. The ideal individual will be an effective communicator, can analyze and set priorities accordingly, and work as a part of a multi- departmental team.

This individual will need to have experience working in construction or engineering industry


  • Helps develop business objectives and the corporate culture framework for projects
  • Establishes the project team organization, defines responsibilities, scope of services and deliverables for each of the team members
  • Prepares requests for professional services, evaluates and ranks consultant's qualifications, recommends selections, negotiates scope of work, costs and contracts for consulting services
  • Produces plans for execution of the project and each stage of the project. Produces the project descriptions, cost estimate and schedules. Develops a procurement strategy
  • Helps prepare AIP and state grant applications
  • Ensures incorporation of grant assurances and conditions into consulting and construction contracts
  • Establishes programs for assessment of cost, time, quality, risk, safety and effect on the environment
  • Directs the bidding and award of construction and supplier contracts, including advertising for bids, pre-bid meetings, analysis of bids and recommendations for award
  • Authorizes payments, approves changes, oversees quality and determines satisfactory completion
  • Monitors performance of the project team against phase and overall execution plans and budgets and initiates corrective action where required
  • Provides regular progress reports identifying current performance and highlighting decisions required
  • Holds regular reviews of designs and construction to ensure quality and conformance with project purpose and budget
  • Ensures that adequate communications mechanisms exist within the project team and between the project team and external organizations and between the project team and the business


  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an undergraduate degree in engineering (graduate degree preferred) or a related discipline
  • Registration as a professional engineer in the State of Indiana
  • Additional course work in management and business
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in the engineering and construction field
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices applied in the planning, location, design, construction of architectural projects.
  • Ability to direct the preparation of engineering designs, records, and reports and to prepare concise reports
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, city county and state federal engineering agencies; and the public
