Job Description

Growing nonprofit organization in Hartford is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team and handle Month-end closing functions, property accounting functions, and general accounting responsibilities for their team.

Responsibilities include:

  • All aspects of general accounting functions, recording journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, balance sheet and P&L analysis
  • Ensure assigned key general ledger accounts are reconciled timely and appropriately stated in accordance with GAAP and
  • Record fixed assets and accruals
  • Work with senior leadership to maintain accounting functions monthly
  • Prepare and review financial statements
  • Assist with implementations and data migrations
  • Perform forecasting and budget analysis
  • Participate in the annual external audit, internal audit
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required
  • 2+ years of general accounting experience required (property accounting experience preferred)
  • Proficiency with Sage MIP preferred, other ERP system experience will be considered
  • Must be proficient with Excel
