Job Description

Our client, a large established manufacturing company located in Moonachie, NJ is adding a Purchasing Manager to the team.

In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, sourcing, purchasing and managing inventory.
  • Create purchasing strategies for key categories for all current products both internationally and within the US.
  • Negotiate with vendors and execute P.O.'s in a orderly and timely fashion.
  • Work directly with R&D, production and sales groups to satisfy customer requirements
  • Develop detailed understanding of inventory levels, current needs, and historical sales and purchasing data and maintain up to date sourcing, pricing and inventory information

Requirements for the position include:

  • 10+ years hands-on management experience in a Manufacturing/Distribution environment
  • College degree required. Degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
