Quality Assurance Automation Manager

Introduction

Do you have a passion for technology and implementing automation/virtualization testing? The Quality Assurance Automation Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of automation test tools to validate the companies products across multiple platforms. In this role, you will create and drive the strategic plan and implementation of automation efforts. You will also coordinate testing of software applications, frequent releases and deployments, client integrations, reporting needs, manage team resources and inspire and motivate QA automation engineers.

A Day in the Life as a Quality Assurance Automation Manager

As QA Automation Manager, you are responsible for developing, maintaining and upgrading automation test scripts using automation testing harnesses and tools to validate key product functions across platforms and fault tolerance when system components are unavailable.

You are responsible for application and system performance testing, analyzing the production workload and building models within the Performance test environment to perform load and stress tests. As a part of the performance work, you are responsible for analysis of performance reports (pre- and post- deployment), interpreting usage patterns and trends of both product and platform, and translating these into performance optimizations recommendations.

Responsibilities also include coaching and mentoring QA Automation team members. You create and drive automation test strategies, evolving the department to modern quality assurance techniques. You partner with QA and Engineering team members for the continued implementation of BDD practices for the development of scripts for automated testing, e.g. Gherkin.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and at least 8 years of related experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ year's hand-on experience in QA automation and performance testing.
  • Command over various automation tools, including Selenium, HP UFT, Postman, SOAP UI etc.
  • Understanding of API, API Gateways, Swagger etc.
  • Experience with TDD & BDD.
  • Experience in testing high scale and complex web applications across multiple platform stacks.
  • Knowledge in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, SQL Server, web services, AJAX, Gherkin.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving with deductive reasoning abilities.
  • Highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.

Work Schedule
