Job Description

Title: Real Estate Financial Analyst
Salary: $65,000 to $85,000
Location: Birmingham, AL

We have an excellent opportunity in financial analysis with a growing real estate firm here in Birmingham! If you have a passion for the real estate business, coupled with experience in financial modeling and analysis, this may be the perfect job for you! This job will entail creating financial models and market studies related to real estate trends, and turning that raw data into a compelling story for investors. This position will work with large amounts of data, build complex spreadsheets from scratch, perform detailed comparisons, and then relate the findings to Senior Management in a clear and professional manner.

Accountabilities:

  • Create IRR waterfalls and cash flow models
  • Perform monthly review of financial reports
  • Maintain property-level models
  • Construct monthly performance reporting packages to send to investors
  • Underwrite potential property acquisitions with loan rate sensitivity analysis to determine the optimal purchase price
  • Work with Corporate and Property Accounting to assist with monthly financial responsibilities
  • Participate in model assumption discussions with VP of Asset Management, and partners
  • Update asset model based on actual expenses and revenue and incorporate projection assumptions into model as approved by management
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or a related field of study from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis or similar related field
  • Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Excel modeling
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of real estate and financial analysis
  • Yardi experience would be looked upon favorably, but not necessarily required
