Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Recruitment and Retention is primarily responsible for managing the recruitment process (including interns), performance management process and employee engagement. The position will take an innovative and proactive approach to recruitment and talent management with the ability to establish collaborative and effective working relationships both internally and externally.


* Develop and revise job descriptions in conjunction with hiring managers to ensure descriptions accurately reflect position responsibilities and comply with state and federal laws. Conduct job analysis by collaborating with staff and management to determine role, responsibility, and skills required

Coordinates with business units to determine annual intern needs and makes hiring decisions regarding interns by business unit.

Manages and coordinates on-site university visits and job fairs for recruitment purposes.

* Utilize benchmarking and metrics to ensure that positions are titled and compensated consistent with market and aligned with principles of internal equity and FLSA regulations

* Coach and guide hiring managers throughout the search and selection process, including how to conduct interviews and the selection process, and how to fully utilize the applicant tracking system

* Ensure that hiring processes comply with policies by providing education to hiring managers and addressing issues as they arise

* Conduct effective and thorough interviews

Establishes and maintains excellent collaborative working relationships with hiring managers.

Develops marketing programs to promote on college campuses and job fairs

* Review and coach hiring managers on background checks and MVRs

* Review and approve job descriptions and employee request forms submitted through the applicant tracking system

* Partner with hiring managers to create a welcoming and informative onboarding process for new employees within their respective departments and field locations

* In collaboration with hiring managers, regularly review and implement new recruitment strategies that generate a qualified and diverse applicant pool. Explore new recruitment sites and opportunities that attract diverse talent. Make recommendations to add/change advertising vendors. Evaluate costs on a regular basis

* Track diversity of applicant pool and effectiveness of sourcing sites; create useful reports and make recommendations

* Assist field with training and processing status forms through the ATS system

* Manages the annual performance review process. Create a program that assists managers in developing employee performance, establishes clear performance goals, and generates honest and effective feedback and coaching that is useful in developing employee capabilities while improving communication between employees and managers

* Establishes, manages and negotiates a nationwide network of temporary staffing agencies for field use

* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations

* Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding and separation process as needed

Requirements: * Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Organizational Development, or a related field; 5+ years of related experience with an emphasis on recruitment and performance management preferred; Experience with job description development and analysis, recruiting plans, interviewing strategies, compensation and classification, knowledge of FLSA regulations; Ability to utilize a wide range of sourcing methods including key word searching, networking, job boards, social media, database searching, branding/advertising, and applicant tracking systems
