Job Description

Our client is looking to add a Regional Manager to their team in Atlanta, GA. You will be responsible for directing and overseeing multiple operations and managers throughout the regional territory of the Southeast Region (GA, NC, SC, and TN). This position will require frequent traveling.

  • Manages and leads operational activities that comply with company strategic plans, policies and procedures; while delivering high service levels and producing operational efficiencies
  • Proactively manages performance against expectations through metrics and action plans
  • Support company growth initiatives
  • Drives a continuous improvement culture and oversees improvement initiatives to make processes or practices more effective and efficient for the regional logistics and warehouse operations
  • Coaches and develops leaders and team members to successful results, including identifying training and development needs
  • Uses knowledge of functional areas, organizational structure, and key business drivers to support company initiatives and long-term growth strategies, understanding individual and functional impact on the whole organization
  • Conducts regional field site visits and facility surveys to evaluate operations and to recommend changes and improvements
  • Analyzes proposed schedules, routes and rates for regional facilities; and initiates preparation and distribution of proposed schedule changes
  • Reviews cost statements for regional facilities to locate excessive expenses, and develops plans, policies, and budgets to achieve maximum profitability
  • Monitors compliance with customer contracts and Federal, State and Local Regulations
  • Ensures timely and accurate dashboards including customer and corporate KPI (key performance indicators) for the region
  • Acts as a liaison between the region and corporate
  • This position will be required to travel to various assigned locations up to 75% weekly, as determined by on-going business conditions
  • Interacts with vendor and carrier partners

  • Regional Managers are expected to work the overnight shift as needed

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in logistics or supply chain management or equivalent field experience with a minimum of 8 + years' experience in a transportation/logistic industry in a leadership position with a mid to large fleet
  • Experience with Six Sigma or other Process Improvement methodology
  • Prior experience working in a 3PL environment in the just in time (JIT), or time sensitive freight industry
