Remote GIS/Python Developer in Memphis, TN at Vaco

Job Description

Vaco Technology is seeking a GIS/Python Developer for a REMOTE 6 months contract to hire employment opportunity with a government contracting company based in Memphis, TN. All applicants must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

In the role you will be developing modern, advanced on-premise and cloud-based analytics solutions, incorporating geospatial and big data to solve complex business operations challenges.

Requirements include:

• 5+ years of experience using GIS products such as Esri ArcGIS software suite (Desktop, Pro, Server, SDE, and AGOL), Google Maps, and open source GIS tools
• Experience with enterprise software development using Python (2.x and 3.x)
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Flask, Django, or Tornado
• Front-end development experience using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience developing web services using RESTful APIs, XML, SOAP, or JSON
• Database and SQL experience (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
• Experience working in Linux environments and basic shell scripting; job scheduling and workload automation
• Agile work environment (Scrum, Lean)
• Bachelor's degree and/or certifications preferred
