Position Summary

The Manager, Revenue Accounting is responsible for recording and analyzing the Company's revenues from In-House Billing Systems, related accounts receivable and valuation allowance. This position supervises accountants and sr. accountants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach and supervise the In-House Billing revenue accounting group
  • Build and maintain good working relationship with in-house billing and payment contacts in Revenue Cycle department
  • Responsible for review and management of revenue process, accounts receivable, and A/R valuation.
  • Support management in streamlining the month-end close process through process improvements and automation
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and yearly balance sheet and income statement analysis using various tools available: Oracle, Hyperion and Analysis Services
  • Monthly review and posting of complex journal entries
  • Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist Director in the research and implementation of systems, accounting policies and procedures
  • Review of monthly internal financial statements and preparation of complementary analytics package
  • Documentation of supporting schedules and analysis for quarterly and year-end deliverables related to Audit, footnotes, and reporting requirements to parent company
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports as required for account variances and analysis
  • Assist in the creation (or updating) of the Company's accounting policies and procedures
  • Support management during internal and external audit reviews
  • Support Director in Special Projects
  • Ensure adherence to the Company's Sarbanes Oxley controls and accounting policies & procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Reads and abides by the company's code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs
  • Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company
  • Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so

Education/Experience:

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced with SOX- based control requirements is a plus.
  • Possess proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Hyperion Essbase and/or Analysis Services cubes is a plus.
  • Previous experience with system implementation is a plus
  • Previous experience with Oracle, Hyperion Interactive Reporting/Smart View is a plus.
