Job Description

Vaco Atlanta is working with a growing healthcare organization committed to making a difference through providing the best patient care as their Director of Revenue Cycle. The ideal profile is a Manager / Sr Manager / Director of Revenue Cycle with extensive Hospital based experience.

  • Manage the communication and work-loads of staff are being met, ongoing real-time communication of payor developments, policy changes, fee schedule changes, etc. to key personnel internal and external of the revenue cycle department
  • Manage the net receivable balances and hold staff accountable for the work flow, accuracy, and communication of all payor behavior changes.
  • Directs the operational team to meet and/or exceed key performance indicators
  • Develops and delivers organized, concise yet thorough communications to the Chief Operating Officer Divisional regarding proposed changes, developments, and opportunities affecting the Revenue Cycle Management department
  • Establishes, measures and maintains organizational and departmental goals
  • Responsible and accountable for managing and operationalizing internal controls
  • Implements and monitors operations systems and procedures to build a streamlined, efficient organization
  • Active participant in the timely and successful on-boarding of new projects and client practices. Interviews, hires, mentors, trains and manages employee performance in a timely and consistent manner
  • Administers management of external vendors; relationship, strategy, and negotiations.
  • Analyzes and provides monthly report of clients, collections and insurance carriers. May participate in the collection process as needed. Other duties as requested by the division Finance Manager.
  • Plan and Manage Budget and labor costs; including approval and management of overtime.
  • Manages the development and implementation of appropriate Revenue Management policy and procedures for all billing activities including follow-up on third-party approvals and collection of overdue patient accounts.
  • Manages actions relating to delinquent accounts, collection agencies, appropriate adjustment levels & trends, and/or write-offs, out of network strategy, and Chart and Charge capture.
  • Other as required
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in finance, accounting, or healthcare administration.
  • 10+ years of medical billing experience and five years prior experience in a leadership role (Hospital Experience Required).
  • P&L management experience and familiarity negotiating managed care contracts.
  • Previous management experience, preferably in the area of healthcare operations.
  • Experience with EMR / EHR Practice Management & Billing systems (e.g., EPIC, or equivalent)
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing/presentation tools, (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)
  • Experience with time-keeping, Payroll, Human Resource Information System tools (e.g., Kronos, ADP, Oracle)
  • Excellent communications skils, (both orally and in writing) in English.
  • Perform in a consistently-organized manner with strong attention to detail.
