Job Description

The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible to develop, plan, organize and implement current and future strategies for clients, along with processing payments, minimizing bad debt, improving cash flow and for managing the overall health of the client's receivables.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Manage Benefits and Eligibility Supervisor and oversee the team's operations.
  • Manage Billing and Collection team directly
  • Responsible for ensuring performance is accurate and timely pertinent to:
    • Submission of pending and held claims for all facilities.
    • Submission of secondary claims for assigned payer.
    • Ensuring timeliness of A/R follow-up
  • Ensuring compliance with goals for claim and billing holds
  • Contact insurance company (online/phone) on balances older than 30 days in submitted status.
  • Manage denied claims process
  • Reconcile A/R balances on insurance accounts. Follow-up with 3rd party payers on claims not paid according to contract.
  • Manage A/R collections process.
  • Utilize dashboards, reports, and key performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Revenue Cycle, develop and drive improvement plans.
  • Respond timely and accurately to calls or correspondence from insurance companies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients by responding to their inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor claim status daily to ensure timely claims processing.
  • Develop professional relationships with the claims department at the health plans.
  • Monitor workflow allocations by teams to ensure workload consistency.
  • In conjunction with Director of Revenue Cycle Management work with vendors and other departments on collaborative projects.
  • Ensures compliance to following targets and goals:
    • Claim Holds as % of Total Visits
    • Insurance A/R Aging as % of Total Insurance A/R
    • Front and Back-End Denials as % of Total Claims Submitted
    • Fee-for-Service Collections as % of Total Charges
  • Liaisons with Coding Department and Care Center Leadership to drive improvements relative to front and back-end workflows related to the Revenue Cycle.
  • Audits A/R Follow-Up Team on Quality and Productivity.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting (MUST HAVE)
  • 3+ years of Revenue Cycle Accounting Experience within the Healthcare Industry
  • Strong experience within an accounting ERP system
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
