About this position:

Our client, a growing distribution company located here in Columbus, is looking for a hardworking, motivated person to add to their Accounting team. Ideally this is a steppingstone into greater responsibility within the team.

They are looking for an intelligent, driven, detail-oriented candidate to handle a variety of accounting roles. The ideal candidate will be system-savvy, meticulous, personable, and able to take initiative.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, and ensure that financial statements are GAAP compliant
  • Participate in the month-end close process including journal entry preparation and account reconciliation
  • Compile monthly budget variance analysis and analyze variances
  • Identify and investigate transactions with respect to proper coding, accounting, and internal controls
  • Contribute to Accounting Department's accurate and timely reporting of all financial and non-financial reports
  • Oversee order to cash process
  • Produce and distribute sales and revenue reports to key decision makers
  • Supervise annual audits, provide requested PBCs, and drive to completion
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach to refine and streamline the close and audit preparation process
  • Help design, implement, and document policies and procedures as well as the workflows and systems that support them
  • Routinely identify and implement process improvements to enhance internal controls and efficiencies
  • Have an opportunity to lead projects and develop processes in a high growth environment

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting work experience required
  • B.S. in Accounting or Business required
  • Large Corporate or Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Large ERP system experience (Oracle, SAP, etc.) preferred
  • Extremely proficient in Excel
