MANUFACTURING SENIOR ACCOUNTANT/ANALYST

This individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge of, and the ability to provide, on-going accounting and financial analysis while also implementing lean management and activity based costing techniques. The position will be responsible for general ledger accounting functions to include, but not limited to, account reconciliations, cost analysis projects, reporting, and audit and year­ end preparation. This position will also participate in estimating, analyzing, understanding and driving actions to improve profitability of jobs within the facility. The Senior Accountant/Analyst supports accounting, reporting systems, and data management to drive accurate and timely data capture of reporting, job and remanufacturing profitability. This position acts as a liaison between Accounting and operating management, helping to translate accounting transactional data into actionable operational results.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Core General Ledger Functions
  • Independently perform accounting functions necessary to achieve accurate and timely general ledger month end close.
  • Prepare financial reports and business metrics.
  • Audit cash transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries/accruals and perform thorough review of balances prior to closing books
  • Provide variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts for management reporting purposes
  • Ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed and supported in accordance with company policies and controls.
  • Supporting process and ERP system improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and functions.
  • All other reasonable duties, as assigned.

Core Cost Accounting Functions
  • Manage the maintenance of cost related data, and serve as a resource of technical knowledge about cost data and system of inventory transactions.
  • Train both finance and non-finance personnel regarding new and established procedures.
  • Develop and establish standard cost rates for labor and overheads allocations, and lead cost roll activities including supporting analysis.
  • Analyze cost data and inventory transactions as a basis developing and implementing process changes to improve internal controls and enhance operating efficiencies.
  • Develop and prepare cost data and inventory reports to facilitate and in conjunction with general accounting, execute monthly close, cutoff, journal entry preparation, general ledger analysis and reconciliations of inventory sub-ledgers.
  • Assist the financial analysis and planning function in analyzing and determining root cause of cost variations and in support of budget and forecast activities.
  • Act as accounting lead for physical inventories including reconciliations and audit support. Monitor cycle count program in compliance with established procedures.
  • All other reasonable duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related degree.
  • Advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years related cost and inventory experience.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • CMA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems
Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, specifically in Excel.
  • Strong understanding of cost, MRP, and inventory transactions in an automated environment.
  • Strong ability to drive systems and use data effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - know how to get answers and results while maintaining sound relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Ability to travel 10%.
